1905 Baseball Cards

If you're looking for 1905 baseball cards, eBay is the place to go. It's amazing what you can find there these days, and the competitive environment keeps the prices low.

For your convenience, here are current auctions for '05 baseball cards. These are live. Click on any of the links for more information.

If there are no listings above, there may be no 1905 cards for sale, but it may also be a bug in the program. It's incredible how many cards are being sold on eBay at any given time: trading cards ... cigarette cards ... packs ... boxes ... rookies ... lots ... sets ... singles ... everything. So, if you don't immediately see what you're after, I recommend clicking over and searching for various strings such as:

'05 rookie card
Nineteen Hundred and Five Baseball Card
trading cards from the 1900's
Turn of the Century Baseball Card
Early Twentieth Century Baseball Cards
20th century baseball cards

By the way, before buying cards you should have this year's Beckett Baseball Card Price Guide so that you can check on the book value. If you're a serious collector, you should also subscribe to Beckett Baseball Card Monthly magazine to keep up with the latest prices.

Beckett's is the most popular guide, but if you collect unusual cards, you might also want to pick up a copy of the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards. This guide has lots of listings for unusual cards.

If you want to sell a 1905 baseball card, eBay is still your best bet. A dealer will only give you about 50% of a card's value, and getting a table at a card show is hardly convenient. Thanks to eBay's extremely active baseball card auctions, it's easy for anyone to auction off single cards, sets, or entire card collections.

Have Fun!

P.S. If you're new to eBay or haven't bid in a long time, here are some tips. The first thing you'll need to do is register. This is free and easy. You'll have to provide some basic contact information, but that will be kept completely private.

Before you bid on an item I highly recommend checking the seller's "feedback rating." This gives you an indication of how the seller has treated other buyers. Almost everybody ends up with a negative review here and there, but too many is a bad sign. Read the negative comments and decide for yourself.

Also be sure to check the shipping and payment details. Some unscrupulous sellers charge too much for shipping and handling. As for payment, I generally want to make sure that the seller accepts PayPal. If you're not familiar with PayPal, it's a very convenient, trustworthy online payment system that enables you to pay securely with a credit card. If you don't have a PayPal account yet, I highly recommend you set one up. It's free.

P.P.S. If any of these are closer to home for you, consider: eBay Canada, eBay UK, or eBay Australia.
